I was flicking through the May/June 2011 issue of Inside Out magazine, and imagine my surprise when I saw my designs in the background! There was even a mention of us! Thanks to Emma and John from Sweets Workshop for choosing to include us in the picture!

In other news, I have been busy with travels, and have come home with tons of new ideas. I hope to get my act together and do something about those ideas before they disappear. Soon!

Happy new year everyone! Firstly, apologies for no updates whatsoever as the past few months have been insane. I have also been selling loads of cushions and tea towels so have been busy stuffing them into envelopes in time for Christmas. So thank you to those who bought my black Ampersand cushion cover, which were sold out just a few weeks after I made them!

Some changes will be happening this year. The feedback I’ve been getting from people about the use of hemp has been mixed, mainly the roughness of the fabric as soft furnishing, and the high cost. Therefore I’m considering sourcing a different but equally sustainable material for my next collection, if I can find any. Please stay tuned for updates and new designs for 2011!

October update

I know I haven’t been very diligent in my posts, but it’s been a busy October! A great piece of news is, one of my cushions will be in the Inside Out Jan/Feb issue. Yay! Yes, am pretty excited about that. The other news is, the Ampersand cushion is sold out as well, so I’m in the process of making some new ones in two different colours – charcoal and natural hemp. They’re being printed this week, so I hope to have a new batch done in another 2 weeks, ready for the Chrismas season. I can’t believe it’s so close to December!

I’m very pleased to announce that s.p.y.downunder is now available at Sweets Workshop, run by the adorable Emma and John. It’s a fantastic shop/gallery which just opened up in my old neighbourhood, Summer Hill. They have so many nice goodies I need to actually stop myself from visiting them in case I buy too much stuff. Nice work guys!
